Terms of Use & Licence
Last updated: 2026-07-17
These Terms govern your use of the Impostor application ("the App") and the impostor.uk website ("the Site"), provided by The Impostor App, trading name of MND Global Ltd. ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, or purchasing a licence, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Licence
The App's Community Edition is free to download and use for non-commercial purposes — personal projects, evaluation, education, and open-source work. Commercial use — use in connection with a business, professional, or revenue-generating activity — requires a paid Pro or Team licence, which also adds support and team entitlements. The App includes an optional 45-day commercial evaluation, started in-app, during which commercial use is permitted without a paid licence; after it ends, continued commercial use requires a Pro or Team licence. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App in accordance with these Terms and any plan you purchase. A Team licence covers the number of seats purchased.
2. Restrictions
You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or a licence key; remove or circumvent licensing or notices; or use the App unlawfully. You are responsible for the requests you make and the systems you access with the App.
3. Purchases, licences & refunds
Purchases are processed by Polar, our Merchant of Record, which is the seller of record and handles billing, applicable taxes, and the delivery of licence keys. Your purchase is also subject to Polar's terms and refund policy presented at checkout. Because licences are delivered digitally, refunds are handled per those terms — contact us at support@impostor.uk for help.
4. Your data
The App is local-first: your workspaces and requests stay on your device and credentials are stored encrypted on your device, unlocked by your operating system's keychain. See our Privacy Policy for how the Site and purchases handle personal data.
5. Intellectual property
The App, the Site, and their content are owned by The Impostor App, trading name of MND Global Ltd. and protected by applicable law. These Terms grant you a licence to use the App, not ownership of it.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
THE COMMUNITY EDITION (THE FREE, NO-COST EDITION OF THE APP) IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE AND ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS, OR GUARANTEES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY, PERFORMANCE, AND USE OF THE COMMUNITY EDITION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT IT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, AND NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED FROM US OR THROUGH THE APP CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS.
The same disclaimer applies to the App generally and to any Pro or Team features, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including your statutory consumer rights, which are unaffected).
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law; your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
8. Termination
These Terms apply while you use the App. We may suspend or terminate a licence for breach. You may stop using the App at any time.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident outside England and Wales, nothing in this clause deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, or of any right to bring proceedings there where local law gives you that right.
