Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-30
This policy explains how The Impostor App, trading name of MND Global Ltd. ("we") handles personal data for the Impostor app and the impostor.uk website. We aim to collect as little as possible.
The app is local-first
The Impostor desktop app sends us no telemetry or analytics. Your workspace files stay on your device (plain files), and credentials are stored encrypted on your device, with the key held in your operating system's keychain. Requests you send go directly from your machine to the servers you choose — not through us.
What we collect
- Website usage. The Site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request metadata (e.g. IP address, user agent) to serve and protect the Site.
- Downloads. When you download the app we record aggregate counts (platform and version) to understand reach. We do not build a personal profile from this.
- Purchases. Payments are processed by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar collects the data needed to take payment (name, email, billing details) and is the seller of record; we receive limited order and licence information (such as your email and licence key) to provide support and deliver your licence.
- Support. If you email us, we process the contents of your message to respond.
How we use it
To provide and secure the Site, deliver and support purchases and licences, understand download reach, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
Processors we use
Cloudflare (website hosting, download delivery, security and analytics) and Polar (checkout, tax, and licence delivery as Merchant of Record). Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Retention
We keep order/licence and support data only as long as needed for support, accounting, and legal requirements; aggregate download counts are retained in summarised form.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Contact support@impostor.uk. For purchase data held by Polar as Merchant of Record, you may also contact Polar directly.
International transfers & children
Our processors may handle data outside the UK under appropriate legal safeguards. The app and site are not directed at children under 13.
Governing law & jurisdiction
This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date reflects changes. Questions or requests: support@impostor.uk.
